This waterfall is known as Sri Lanka’s second tallest waterfall with a majestic look. Any traveller who visits Sri Lanka never miss this lovely waterfall. During rainy seasons you can see a heavy water load coming through upper mountain and you can enjoy a splash if you stand from the roadside. You can observe this waterfall right from roadside. This waterfall is located between Wellawaya and Koslanda ‘A4’ roadside.

Upper Diyaluma

Many travellers tend to visit the top of this waterfall to get a magneficient view from upper Diyaluma area. You will find small natural pools on the top and you can swim to the edge of the waterfall where water drops off. There are mainly 2 routes to visit upper Diyaluma. If you go from bottom side of the waterfall, you can hire a tuk tuk or a scooty to get to the tea factory located right side of Diyaluma and afterwards you have to go by foot. Villagers are always welcome to guide you to upper Diyaluma area. Secondly there is another route by turning from Koslanda city as shown on the map (depicted by no. 2). You have to trek to the destination from the ‘Upper Diyaluma trek Start’ point where you will climb down through the stream.

You have to be very careful when you visit upper Diyaluma area. Those rocks are polished due to heavy water stream, and it can be very greasy.
